The great lakes of southern Lithuania Dusia, Metelys and Obelija is the utmost worth of the Meteliai Regional Park, which determined its establishment and recreational resources.

Valuable complexes and forms of the relief:
- Drumlin crests in a part of Teizai-Verstaminai moraine massif; steep slopes of crests affected by suffusion circuses, narrow peaks, and waterlogged hollows;
- Massive plateaux in the Giraitė and Trakas forests;
- North-eastern slope of the Žagariai moraine massifs resolved by washes, descending to the lake pool;
- Ridged forms dominating in the western strand of Lake Dusia (the Barčiai geomorphologic reserve) and in the eastern strand of Lake Obelija.

Many times reckless activities of people impoverished or partly laid waste of the natural landscape. Non-aesthetical buildings, abandoned and decrepit former outhouses and buildings of enginery yards, arbitrary rubbish dumps, messy roads, and other phenomena of mismanagement contribute to the degradation of the landscape.
